Attending WordCamp Pisa in 2025!

This year, GreenGeeks is proud to support WordCamp Pisa in Italy! Our very own Marco Berrocal will be there on November 21st and 22nd, at the Department of Computer Science. Stop by and say hello while on your way to some great talks.

I have to admit, I am a bit jealous. I would love to explore Pisa in person, as Italy has some of the richest historical locations in Europe. It’s no wonder millions of people visit Pisa every year, most of whom visit the famous Leaning Tower.

In any event, WordCamp is going to be amazing this year, and we’d love to see you there.

What to Expect from WordCamp Pisa?

As with all WordCamps, there are some great talks happening in Pisa. You surely wouldn’t want to miss attending if possible.

For instance, you can attend sessions for:

  • SEO Beyond Google: Marketing in the Era of AI and Regulation
Artificial intelligence is constantly advancing, and knowing how to optimize your site beyond Google search is imperative. In this talk, Joost de Valk breaks down European laws regarding GDPR and what SEO means in the world of AI.
  • WordPress Training: New Talent and Opportunities for Businesses
WordPress manages the majority of the Internet. And educational programs are growing for open source projects and how they impact businesses. Isotta Peira goes over those benefits for sutdents, universities and businesses to build a stronger presence.
  • How to Power WordPress with Automation and AU Using n8n
In this session, Giulio Andreini shares experiences using n8n to integrate automation and AI-based features to build WordPress beyond its limits while promoting a low-code environment. This is great for beginners or those who don’t know a lot about coding in general.
  • How We Closed Almost 1000 Plugins in a Month – A Story of the Biggest WordPress Bug Bounty Hunt
In 2024, the WordPress community shut down a large number of plugins thanks to the efforts of the “bug bounty hunt.” In this talk, Maciek Palmowski shares how it all happened, the consequences, and what developers can learn from the experience.
  • Modern, Responsive UIs: The Future of WordPress with Blocks and the Interactivity API
As the future of user interfaces continues to develop, WordPress lets you deliver interactivity through API systems. Luigi Teschio shares how to leverage interactive APIs and build websites that are engaging for your specific audience.

Keep in mind that this is just a small section of the available talks thqaqt are available at WordCamp Pisa. These are the ones that piqued my interest most, but there are more available for all levels of WordPress developer.

Whether you’re new to WordPress or a seasoned veteran, there is so much you can do with the platform. And the talks happening this November can help you get more out of your online presence.

While You’re In Pisa…

For those traveling to Italy for the WordCamp, there is more available in Pisa than the convention. After the camp, you could always check out some of the amazing and ancient sites.

If I were attending this year, I’d surely make time to see:

  • The Leaning Tower: Completed in 1372, this tower has withstood the test of time. It’s been photographed billions of times, including those who pose to appear to hold the tower up or pushing it over. Regardless, it’s an amazing feat of elegant engineering despite being built on soft soil.
  • Pisa Cathedral and Baptistry: The Leaning Tower isn’t the only attraction of that particular plot of land. The Pisa Cathedral and the Pisa Baptistry are also awe-inspiring locations near the tower itself. The Cathedral was completed in 1092 and the Baptistry in 1363.
  • Arno River and Ligurian Sea: Pisa is located relatively close to the Ligurian, and the Arno River flows through the middle of the city, connecting to the sea. Some of the most amazing constructs and sites rest along the banks as well as some beautiful bridge architecture.

I could easily spend several days walking along the river to see the sites, not to mention taking a trip to see the old Tuscany towns.

Have a Great Weekend, Italy!

I’d like to take a moment to thank the organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and patrons who make WordCamps like the one in Pisa possible. It is your continued support that helps WordPress have the greatest community available.

Attend as many talks as you can and make sure you stop by and visit Marco. He loves to meet new people and talk about WordPress. He’s a great addition to what you’ll find in Italy this year.
